According to historians, the Roman bath situated in Yozgat’s Sarıkaya district is believed to have healed a terminally ill daughter of a Roman emperor who once lived in the nearby Kayseri province. This legend has only added to the allure of this captivating site, drawing visitors from around the world to experience its unique blend of history, architecture, and natural wonder.

Revitalizing the Roman Bath

The extensive landscaping project on the ancient structure, popular for its thermal water pools that make it possible to swim even in the middle of winter, was initiated under the supervision of the Museum Directorate in 2022. According to Yozgat Governor Ziya Polat, the landscaping project has seen the establishment of a reception center, a local products bazaar, a cafeteria, and walking and photography areas. Governor Polat expressed his belief that the completed restoration of the Roman bathhouse will bring added value to Sarıkaya, Yozgat, and the country as a whole.
